Hello! I'm María Montero, I'm passionate about writing, and I'm the author of several non-fiction books. I'm also an entrepreneur in the fintech industry. I worked in the corporate world for almost 20 years and led a conventional life until a medical diagnosis changed my life forever; I have lupus.
Everything I had taken for granted, as simple and natural as being in the world, took on a new meaning for me. This reality also led me to question the fast-paced way I was living and to pause in my routine.
This pause led me to a process of transformation to accept that despite adversity, life goes on, without creating more limitations than the disease itself imposes on me.
I learned to live not in spite of challenges but because of them, filling my life with more purpose than I had before this crisis. I discovered that happiness is a decision in the present, not something we should wait for.
Through sharing my experiences, I go through my own process of catharsis, learning, and evolution, sharing everything that has helped me:
